The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has approved the listing of cryptocurrency exchange-traded products (ETPs) after years of cautious cryptocurrency regulation. In January 2020, the regulator banned retail investors from trading cryptocurrency derivatives and ETPs due to volatility risks. However, as cryptocurrency ETPs have gained traction in Europe and the United States, the situation has changed. In March, the FCA announced that it would allow companies to list cryptocurrency ETPs for professional investors in line with global trends.
