World Chain Release
NAIROBI (Coinchapter.com) – Worldcoin, the identity-oriented cryptocurrency startup founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, has taken a major step towards its mission of “prioritizing human users” with the launch of its new blockchain network, World Chain.

Announced on April 17, 2024, World Chain aims to improve the efficiency, scalability, and practical applicability of Web3 applications. Worldcoin has grown rapidly, creating more than 10 million World IDs and completing 75 million transactions in 160 countries. The project has now revealed its dedicated blockchain network to support this growth.
Blockspace for all humans
The new World Chain network will address challenges facing the Ethereum ecosystem. Worldcoin transactions currently account for approximately 44% of OP Mainnet activity, and at peak times exceeded 80%. This highlights the need for a dedicated network to accommodate the scalable growth of the project.
According to Worldcoin,
“World Chain’s primary design goal is to significantly increase capacity so that new users can continue to join at scale and existing users can enjoy faster, cheaper, and more reliable transactions.”
A key feature of World Chain is Worldcoin’s “Proof of Human Identity” technology. This allows users to anonymously verify their addresses as real humans, ensuring that bots and automated transactions do not dominate the network’s resources. In turn, this helps maintain a healthy ecosystem and prioritizes the needs of everyday users.
The network will support both ETH and WLD tokens as fee payments. This means verified Worldcoin users can instantly use their WLD grants in the application of their choice.

Worldcoin (WLD) is currently trading at $4.81, showing growth of 3.78% in the past 24 hours. This positive momentum comes on the heels of the announcement of World Chain, the company’s new human-centric blockchain designed to improve efficiency and real-world Web3 applications. The news appears to have outweighed the impact of an earlier fine imposed by Argentina on the company.
World Chain: Enhancing Human-Centric Blockchain Access
Tiago Sada, Worldcoin’s Director of Operations, explained World Chain’s unique approach. He highlighted the network’s human-centric focus, distinguishing it from typical L2 solutions and the broader Ethereum ecosystem, prioritizing human users over bots. This prioritization solves the common problem of bot congestion, which often frustrates human transactions.
In the coming months, Worldcoin plans to release a developer preview of World Chain, with full launch expected this summer. As the project continues to innovate and expand, the new blockchain network promises to empower human-centric applications and drive broader adoption of Web3 technologies.
