Nibiru’s EVM is extremely fast, highly scalable, and provides seamless integration for Ethereum developers, making Nibiru the engine that will drive mainstream adoption and innovation in Web3.
Overcoming Ethereum’s Scaling Barriers
Nibiru Chain, a pioneering smart contract ecosystem, has launched Nibiru EVM, a high-performance Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) execution environment, in its latest v2 release.
Nibiru plans to go beyond Ethereum's current infrastructure, which is limited to about 20 transactions per second (TPS), resulting in high fees in times of congestion. These constraints prevent developers from building performance-intensive applications similar to those seen in Web2. The Nibiru EVM goes beyond these limitations by providing a throughput of over 10,000 TPS, even with only single-threaded execution.
To further improve scalability and performance, Nibiru plans to upgrade the network to process transactions with parallel optimistic execution, which, according to Nibiru co-founder Unique Divine, is “expected to be released by the end of 2024.” This approach allows nodes to take advantage of additional hardware resources, pushing the network’s transaction processing capabilities.
Driving ecosystem expansion and enhancing developer experience
With Ethereum developers accounting for over 90% of applications with a total value locked (TVL) in the smart contract ecosystem, the Nibiru EVM significantly lowers the barrier to entry and accelerates development timelines.
Nibiru EVM gives developers a powerful, user-friendly environment that enables seamless interaction between Ethereum base tokens and applications across multiple virtual machines. This multi-virtual machine approach ensures fast transaction processing and a simplified user experience.
Ethereum developers are able to deploy applications in the familiar EVM environment, lowering barriers to entry and accelerating development timelines while enjoying the benefits of parallel optimistic execution and immediate finality.
Nibiru is in its early stages
Since the mainnet launch in March 2024, Nibiru has supported Wasm (Web Assembly) smart contracts written in the Rust programming language. The launch of the Nibiru EVM provides developers with an EVM-compatible execution environment that is both high-performance and scalable. Nibiru is positioned to play a key role in the future of decentralized applications, driving innovation and paving the way for mainstream adoption.
